Today was a good day. Sunshine prevailed again. Most of us are still feeling a bit under the weather, but are able to function still. We've come to the point where we have had to start a medicine chart to remind us who has had what medicine when. Micah has had a fever for a couple of days, but he doesn't seem to feel that bad. I kept him home from church today anyway. I kept Jhon, too, since he's likely to be a distraction more than anything and is not likely to want to go to class. Even without the three of us, the van was full. Two other families went along!. One was supposed to leave town yesterday, but they couldn't get tickets until tomorrow. They're in the room next to us until then and have a 7 year old and a new baby. The other family is a new mom with her mom and mother-in-law, who both flew in when her husband went back home. I think they all enjoyed it even though it wasn't exactly what they were used to. Jason said the singing was wonderful, and the girls went to class today!
A new couple came in today from the U.S. They want to go with us to church next week. They are adoping an older child, too. They get her tomorrow -- a 9 year old girl!. We thought that was neat. She's tiny, though, unlike Tatiana. If the agency has their numbers right, she's about Sara's size, if you can imagine a nine year old being so small. They have 3 children at home, too. Their sons are 17 and 15, and their daughter is 13 and excited about sharing her room with a new sister.
Feel like I've been whining too much -- so thought maybe counting our blessings would be in order. One big praise -- bedtimes have been going so well!. They don't. give us a hard time at all about getting ready for bed. Caleb and Jhon tend to toss and turn for a bit, but even they have been pretty cooperative more often than not. We've been putting all six to bed at the same time, too. Naps have gone well, too, though Caleb and Jhon tend to take turns throwing fits. Even the big girls take naps when we ask them to. The weather has been amazing. This is supposed to be the rainy season when it rains every day. We have had rain but nothing like we've been told to expect. As a result, we've been able to go for walks almost daily. Even when it has rained, it's never been an all day thing -- mostly short-lived showers. The children are still getting along well. Tatiana and Nataly tend to hang out together a lot simply because they can talk to each other, but Sara gets in there, too, especially when they are all drawing and coloring. All 3 of them really enjoy that. Jhon is just Jhon. Hangs around whoever or wanders around by himself. We are all adjusting nicely -- much better than expected. Thanks all for your prayers and encouragement. We can feel God's hand!
